Imagine your three best vets, including Olympic gold medalists, benched (injury, childbirth) and another starter suddenly injured. Imagine the rookies, other newcomers, and reserves attempting to keep up with some of the best players in the world (more Olympic gold medalists). Certain Rebkell folk were proposing that Vanessa Nygaard (formerly of Stanford) be canned during or after this, her second season as head coach: http://boards.rebkell.net/viewtopic.php?t=102622 Talk about cancel culture.

Though I don't agree that Nygaard should go right now -- Phoenix has an awful roster -- she appears to be in over her head. She was a very good high school coach at Windward, but it's a pretty big jump from CIF to the WNBA.
