"At one point, I had a lot of regrets going to Cal." - Tracy Slocum

My response, "Whateva!"

I hope he gets an opportunity to play.

He sounds like someone struggling to find himself....and where he fits it. Just because it didn't work out at Cal he shouldn't be condemned, and tossed away by us. I hope he's able to get a degree and use this experience in a positive way.

I read his comment as more a "I thought I would be the next Marshawn. I realize maybe I aimed too high" The football fields are littered with players who probably have regrets they didn't go elsewhere. Heck, even the average students have similar regrets. Doesn't mean it wasn't the best choice for them.

Remember how excited everyone here was when we signed James Montgomery AND Tracy Slocum in same recruiting class--two solid 4* RBs? Funny how that worked out.

Good for him. I hope that he is able to play at FSU and to continue to turn his life around.

how many former cal players, verbal commits, ex-coaches are at FSU now? Slowly it is becoming the southern version of Cal. Southern Cal? LOL

In basketball, Legans, Fowlkes and McGuire all transferred to FSU in the past....

Sounds like a lot of normal stuff to me. Now with less pressure.....back home....couple years older.....hopefully he can contribute and take his "game" as far as possible. 2 children might be impetus to start figuring out a career of some sort! Good Luck Tracy.

I don't think he was speaking negatively of Cal in any way. Probably just frustrated at the depth chart, and it's clear that those feelings were in the past. It can be difficult when you are competing with Forsett, Best, and Vereen. Best of luck to Slocum.

Then we got another two solid 4* RBs the next year - Jahvid Best and Shane Vereen haha.
