There is a lot of talk on the Udub boards about Kasen being a Cal lean.

Wow!!!

Nice!! Offers from Alabama, Florida, LSU, ND, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tenn, UCLA, USC etc. Not a burner, but good size at 6-2/200 lbs. Strong possession WR. It's still early in the process, but it's a good start.

Williams is considered the #1 WR in the nation and a 5 star recruit by Scout... for now at least.

Not over until the fat man sings! Should he not choose the dawgs, Fetters will downgrade. Should he choose Cal, 5 star recruit suddenly becomes most overrated WR in 2011 class and plummets from grace.

74 receptions for 1209 yards and 20 touchdowns. averaging 16 yards per reception. nice. let's get adrian lee to put in some good words

As a soph in the state tile game, he made a spectacular leaping 1 handed grab while being hit by the DB. He's also a good BB player and high jumped 6'9" recently. He would be a tremendous get.

He's a must get IMO. He's not going outrun peopel but he's one of those guys that passes physicality eyeball test. Cal hasn't had a physical WR in quite sometime

Before you relegate Kasen Williams to possession-receiverdom, check out his track and field marks. It doesn't look like he runs much, but 23'5"/48'0" is a sick double in the long and triple jumps. I coached both events at the high school level, and I can attest that you don't get those marks without some serious explosiveness.

Yep. I did both jumps in high school and can attest that 23'5" and 48'0" are very good HS marks, exhibiting serious explosiveness. He may not have sprinters speed to really stretch the field but I suspect he has pretty good speed and will catch a lot of balls against DBs at the apex of his jump.

Read the thread on their website and it's pretty hilarious. Love how a udub fan claimed cal had a horrible passing game over the past 5 years and another udub fan completely called him out at it.

Oh, definitely didn't mean possession WR as a knock. I meant it as a positive - in a Michael Crabtree sort of way. Physical, strong hands, etc. Williams doesn't have elite top-end speed (11.83 100m and 23.54 200m), but still has some explosiveness based on those jump numbers like you said.

Im sure if he trained a bit in track, he could drop that 100 to 11.0 or sub 11..
and that 200 under 23..

Is it looking like Maurice Harris is also a lean? I wonder how many WRs we will take with all of this interest.
