    We went on a two week Viking River Cruise from St. Petersburg to Moscow. It was an amazing experience. One of the most memorable events was at the beginning - our first day in St. Petersburg was Victory Day (celebrated on May 9 in Russia). Everyone gets involved from the teens (wearing Order of St. George ribbons) to the elderly vets with their medals attached to their jackets. To see how important this day still is in Russia is a reminder of how V-E Day has been forgotten in the US. Speaking of WWII, we were in Ukraine several years ago and visited the Patriotic War Museum in Kiev - it was the most moving experience I have ever had in a museum. Extraordinarily impressive.......
