Knell, who plans to attend the University of California, is known for his ability to shoot from anywhere on the floor. He baited defenders into playing too closely because he also was able to get to the rim off the dribble. If the defender tried playing off him, he’d shoot. "Trevin has been such a huge player for Woods Cross for the past four years," Wildcats coach Kasey Walkenhurst wrote. "He was a great leader for all of his teammates and a great example for all the younger players coming up. His ability to shoot from the perimeter, even with every opponent knowing how well he shoots, was an amazing thing to watch. He shot over 48 percent from the 3-point line his junior and senior seasons."

    Opposing coach scouting report

“Trevin was an extremely hard matchup. He got his three off so quickly that a lot of times you did not have time to react. You never knew when he was going to get going, he always seemed to hit a huge shot. Everyone does not notice his rebounding ability (6.4 a game). He is a complete player, it is no wonder that he has a major Pac-12 offer with California.”
