Go Fund Me to cover costs of Poutasi's mom's funeral

I just ran across this on twitter.
Poutasi has tweeted out that he is struggling and needs help.

Before any Cal fans contribute to this, this should go through compliance. The last thing he needs is the idiotic NCAA declaring him ineligible, costing him an education.

Edit: looks like some have already done so, and posted that they are Cal fans. Brilliant.

Technically, this is going to his cousin to cover funeral expenses.

I noticed. I don't trust the NCAA to do the right thing.

Savannah Rennie had a big Gofundme too that her mom created for medical costs associated w/ the transplant. it was fine, with a much bigger contribution target, and was covered extensively by various news outlets, and the PAC12N

think there is a rule for family hardships (deaths) and medical-related things for athletes. this, plus the fact that he didn't the campaign should make it more than above board.

here's one of the better known cases:

    http://www.cbssports.com/college-bas...rents-in-fire/

"This account is in compliance with NCAA rules regarding these situations and allows all fans, donors and supporters to contribute to particular expenses for Emmanuel and his family," Colorado State said in a statement. "NCAA rules permit Colorado State to pay for Emmanuel’s actual and necessary expenses related to his family’s tragedy. The GoFundMe account established by CSU Athletics extends beyond that scope to cover funeral, medical and related expenses. Funds raised in excess of the support needed for those expenses will be donated to a charitable cause, per NCAA bylaws."
also, the official CalRecruiting account retweeted it as well, so hopefully compliance will be monitoring and advising on the situation as needed.

The NCAA issues were my first thought as well. It's sad that it's come to this where we can't even be humans and help a fellow person who has suffered a terrible tragedy lest it ruin his future. It's sad that sleazy programs and boosters have and will take advantage of a situation like this and "donate", say thousands for funerals and trust funds.

This is truly a very sad story and touched my heart and of course I contributed, I hope all of you do the same, Go Bears...

Should this not be a sticky on the top of the page for a while?
