This press release mentions her strong background on Title IX compliance and championing gender equality and diversity so perhaps that will carry over on the athletic impacts or on topics like the Field Hockey team's ever-moving field.

This is a quick and dirty overview of some of her thoughts re:debt and revenue.

Oh, yeah: And she wants to build dorms at People's Park (she arrived in Berkeley in 1970, one year after People's Park was created.)

I've talked to Christ a few times .... she's tough -- certainly the opposite of decision-averse Dirks.

(No, I don't know how she stands on sports. But she left UC Berkeley months before Tedford was hired and she returned a few years ago.)

Carol is a good friend. Your characterization of her as "tough" and not decision-averse is spot on. While she is adamant about fixing Cal's budget mess, my observation is that she "gets" the importance of athletics on campus. Hopefully, she will have some novel ways of managing the athletic budget.

What kinds of revenue-generating opportunities do you see for the campus?

We’ve identified six: enrollment increases, self-supporting degree programs, monetization of real estate, increase in contract and grant activity, entrepreneurial activity — patent income, agreements with business and industry — and focusing our philanthropy in ways that would support the core.

Christ first came to UC Berkeley at age 25/26. She's spent half her life here (and she got to have the 11 years away as head of Smith College.)

Was she around for the Andy Smith Wonder Teams? I mean, how could she not want to restore the program to its glory days?

For what it's worth, by all accounts she'll be able to get the budget under control, which is the #1 priority of the campus right now.
