    T&F Arcadia invite results

Of course for Cal the big race was the 3200 girls invite, where 3 Cal recruits raced Brie Oakley, Annie Boos, and Niki Iker. The 2 top women expected to be were Brie and soph Claudia Lane (Malibu). They didn't disappoint as they batted shoulder to shoulder for 8 laps with Claudia winning by a body length. Not to make excuses but thought instead of Brie running on the outside of Claudia's shoulder for almost the entire 8 laps, should had just ran behind her. Had to run extra yardage running on the outside and could had drafted behind Claudia. Annie came in 11th and Niki #20.

Will look for other Cal results as I wade through the massive number of races at the Grand daddy of all High School invite meets!

    Sorry could only find one.

These were the ones I found that ran as individuals. Many of our other xc recruits no doubts were in many of the relays that were run over the 2 days of the meet.

Alyssa Brewer (11) of Cal high won the 800 invite with a 2:07.90. She won the state title last year as a sophomore in 2:06.86. She's also gone 25.50 and 55.05.

She will be heavily recruited by all of the elite track programs! My guess Oregon.

I would guess the same. I play softball with her dad and had no clue about his daughters talent until I struck up a convo with them re track. Good kid. She fits the academic profile, so that is our best chance. If she wants the best track experience to make the olympics it's Oregon all the way though. That's what I would tell my own daughter if she were in her shoes.

Cooper Teare out of Alameda's St. Joseph Notre Dame is heading to Oregon.

He recently ran 4:00.16 at the Mt. SAC Relays in the MILE.
Converted to 1600m, it is the fastest in California State history!
    (3:58.76)

On April 8th at the Arcadia Invitational, Teare ran a meet-best 8:41.46 in the fastest, deepest 3200m high school field in History!
Don't miss him in the 3200m at the State Meet on Saturday, June 3rd at Buchannon High in Clovis.

Longtime prep track expert and PrepCalTrack editor Rich Gonzalez said Teare’s performance capped the greatest month-long stretch by an individual in California distance running history, comparing Teare to prep distance icons German Fernandez (Riverbank High-Stanislaus County), Jeff Nelson (Burbank High-Los Angeles County) and Rich Kimball, a 1970s De La Salle-Concord graduate considered the best in Bay Area history.

I heard about the Teare kid. I was told that at a recent meet here in the Bay Area they set him up with a 800m rabbit to see if he could break 4 mins, but he missed it. Redic times though. I'm getting old apparently.

That's the sign of the time in big invitational meets - H.S., Colleges, and professionals.

    Here is the race:
