I love that Jones is getting early verbals...this could leverage well to landing the elite blue chips (i.e. Brown, etc.).

Very first thing I thought when seeing the picture. Nothing like having strength inside. Great get.

Excellent recruiting by Wyking to offer and get him before other high majors/ PAC schools. Looks to have the toughness of Jorge, the ability to score from all three levels, and the strength to score inside. All of a sudden Cal has some nice recruiting momentum and are making a statement to other 2018 and 2019 prospects about competing at a high level.

SF or SG? They are both listed in various sites as SFs.

Wing. We have no designation for wing in our DB.

Basically he can guard or play either the 2 or 3.

You would think Brown would be impressed by the team Wyking is building at Cal, and he'd want to be a part of it.

That's the idea. And don't be surprised if he joins in the fun.

    Yes. The domino theory.

These are the kind of guys that Cuonzo needed to be bringing in 2-3 of each year, so we would have a complete roster. Instead, it was one-and-dones and last-minute-back-up-plans.

    Not to mention academic non-qualifiers.

    Lots more to come
You mean, it wasn't "an insular, disastrous basketball coaching search"?

I am on a board with a major donor from the last rose bowl team.
He told me he is very impressed with the coach, now night games for football is another thing!

He scored 38 in his first varsity game as a Soph, and this past January scored 72 for tie for 10th most ever in California high schools.

The R-site ranks him #81 overall recruit in nation, just behind yesterday's verbal commit.

I'll be curious how much of his game is simply overpowering guys (which will be more difficult in a league full of 7' centers and 6'9" power forwards, and how well he can shoot from the perimeter. Guessing he can be a strong defender and great in transition.
Pac-12 refs better not neutralize his physicality on the perimeter.
