not MB but I highly doubt that Ervin will play RB.

as far as I know, both Lasco and Ervin were recruited as ATH.

if Lasco is really 6'2" I don't think he ends up playing RB either.

    any links?

edit: not to rain on the positive news, but does this affect our recruiting of green & bigelow? or are we recruiting him at a different position?

Not bad, Not bad. Imagine a tall WR who can go up and make the catch, shake off any tacklers then out run the pack to the endzone.

    Welcome to California, D. Lasco!

I think this kid deserves a shot at RB. While he isn't as flashy as the average HS stud RB, he is fast as hell and is superb at reading his blocks. Also, the league he succeeded in is a much more talented league than almost any of the bay area leagues besides possibly the EBAL.

His team beat some real good Texas teams in Katy, Lufkin, and Klein Forest.

If I recall correctly, Eric Dickerson was 6'3".

This is shaping up to be a special class. Cal got a really good one i think in Daniel Lasco kid's a player.

    Some quotes from his coach,

When Daniel was there he was excited about the campus and their program. But what stood out was how their coaches are focused on education,” Woodlands coach Mark Schmid said. “They also sold the fact that Cal has the most active running backs in the NFL today.

The tape was fun to watch. Incredible speed.

Doesn't sound like we talked to him much about not playing the RB position.

Heck, give him a shot, why not.

Lasco's being recruited as rb but he could conceivably play safety or receiver.

Ervin won't be a rb at Cal. They could take two but not three unless the third will play another position.

Great pickup! I could see him at either RB or WR.

If he puts more wiggle in his hips for lateral cuts (Best, Lynch) or learns to jump-cut (LaMichael James, the Quizz)....look the hell out.

If not, he's still a talent wherever he plays. Just being able to hit the hole fullspeed with fewer, but decisive moves can do wonders (Gerhart) and Lasco does that very consistently....and then nobody seems to catch him.
