    UCLA gets Nirra Fields

Great get for the Bruins, although their odds increased exponentially once Fields moved to SoCal.

This means that UCLA will be battling Cal for all those top post players in the 2013 class, bc witht the 3 guards committed for 2012, the Bruins will be really short on size.

Collier at UW, Adams at USC (with Stafford to come?), and now Fields at UCLA--Pac-12 loading up in a hurry in the last few days.

    2013 and 2014

2013 and 2014 are key Recruiting Years for Cal. We added no one from the 2012 class. We did add Hartman who is a 2011 and she will bring great things to Cal for her whole career. We will have 6 schollies for 2013 and then 4 for 2014 plus any leftovers from 2013. Minus one for Mikayla Cowling in 2014. We need to attract quality players like we have now. The other thing we have to do is win this year to put a positive stamp on the Cal program.

Are we in a good position to land the O'Dowd duo in 2013? Cowling seems to be built like a 3 (even though she plays a 4 now).... Walters and Chidom are 4's and 5's, correct?

Walters could even be a 3

She's built like a tank but she has skilled. i see Chidom as a 5. Maybe a 4 but she has long arms and scores inside a lot. Cours I haven't seen her since last spring but hope to see her in the Jamboree.

When talking about O'Dowd, do not forget Breanna Brown. She's the third big on that team, hasn't gotten as much PR, but she is a veerrrry good player. There are a lot of posts out there for 2013. Kendall Cooper is another one from SoCal's St Anthony High School who will be on LG's list. 3 player's from Oregon are very highly ranked. Russell of course, but there are 2 players from Central Catholic in Portland, Kailee Johnson and Jordan Reynolds, who will be great recruits for us to pursue. I'm guessing they already know Kai, so that might help. And Foo's sister Onome and Courtney Range from St Mary's Stockton.

Enough links for now. Well maybe one more. Location may make her a longshot, but I'm sure the staff has already made contact.

    saw Cooper last Spring

    Very good player.

Brenna Brown is a very big body and comes off the bench but she will get a Division I scholarship.

Saw two of the Oregon players here at Haas in August. Both very good.

Will be interesting to see how Breanna Brown does this season now that she is healthy, correct?

Kailee Johnson will have many options, but she is very close with Reynolds and '14 Nared, so perhaps some kind of a package deal could interest her, which bodes well with our million available scholarships.

6'3" Erica McCall from Bakersfield (w/ her 4.2 GPA) could very well be atop our wish list for '13. Her half sister is DeWanna Bonner.

Unfortunately, we are not on Russell's current list. And if frequency of visits is any indication, I suspect USC might lead for Kendall Cooper.
