Cal's next home run ties SEASON record

Cal had 49 home runs after yesterday's game. In the first game today, they hit 5, giving them 54 for the year.

The season record for Cal softball: 55 home runs.

Don't want to jinx it -- but with at least 22 games left, I'm think they have a good chance of setting a new school record.

    Fingers crossed!

    NCAA record is 158

by Hawaii in 2010. They hit 2.39 per game.

We'd have a long way to go there. Cal has never been a team that hit tons of singers. We've generally made waves with pitching.
