    FlashingScriptCal Cochran's throws

The shot put mark moved Ethan into ist place among all California HS throwers. The discus throw extended his #1 status in the US.

Not Cal related, but holy crap, a 13.52 by a junior?! That's a serious time; as far as I can recall from 15 years ago, sub 14 was considered very good, and sub 13.8 was incredible. To go 13.5 and still be a junior is insane. On top of that, he ran a 36.39 in the 300 hurdles, and a 21.10 in the deuce. He won athlete of the meet and was the first time someone won three events at Arcadia (he won 5 actually) since Xavier Carter.

none from Cal 8-(. What's up with that?? http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73...=1&nid=5158022

Here is a story of his exploits at the Arcadia invites. It seems he will have to forfeit the 200 win..cause he is allowed only to race in 4 events at the Arcadia. BTW all of the previous 4 events ..were all wins too. Note there is a small section on Ethan Cochran' win too.

Wish it was..but copied and pasted. There were slower runners in his race //so mark it up as a bad day. Saw one of your proteges today in the 3000. Tough race for her but came on strong at the end!!

Kathleen had an achilles problem at the end of XC, missed a huge chunk of training/racing, and has only been back to workouts for a few weeks. This was a 'rust-buster' meet for her and it would seem not too much was expected. I probably would have blue-shirted her. Hopefully she will be able to stay healthy, get it back together over the summer (rather than ramping up for last August's do-or-die timetrial which earned her the walk-on spot), and help her team out in cross.
