You are saying that despite the fact that we need big men, when we lost out on two of the top rated big men in the class we took two guards instead?
Besides:
Matthews commitment to Cal was announced on Sep. 8
Singer's commitment to Cal was announced on Oct. 1
Lee committed to Kentucky on Oct. 16
So we offered Matthews and Singer and received commitments from them well before we lost Lee to Kentucky. Furthermore, at the time, the thought was that if we had Lee there was hope of getting Gordon. Gordon is still uncommited and unsigned. Thus, all the evidence points to our offering scholarships to Matthews, Singer, Bird, Lee and Gordon with the intent of somehow being able to take them all, otherwise I don't think you offer the other guards until you find out about the big men and even then I think we still need big men.
