and my answer is yes.



here's why

I would want stanford to go to the NCG, and lose (and us BLOWOUT win in the RB)---and then next year they lose luck.

if we went to the rose bowl, we return a lot of great players, this would create a shift and then next year, we would be looking at NCG implications and to get the NCG and win, making stanfords look like a fluke---and then we'd have a RB and NCG in 2 years, with stanford only going to NCG because of their lucky once in a lifetime stud qb.

No, because a Rose Bowl bid is not the goal... a conference championship (which equates to at least a Rose Bowl bid), however, is.

Not the same. Because I'd say "yes" to your hypothetical and "no" to the original. In the original hypothetical, we almost certainly lose the Big Game and lose the axe. We go to the Rose Bowl but finish behind our biggest rival.

I want a conference championship (what the Rose Bowl used to be synonymous with).

I could make myself very happy with $8 million, regardless of what my "worst enemy" (and really, I can't think if there is any such person) makes.

i dont ever want to see furd in a ncg if cal has a chance to go and its either cal or furd nor could i as a cal fan bring myself to root for them you just dont do that as a cal fan the goal always is that cal finishes above furd.

I'd be happy with a Rose bowl bid under any circumstances, but preferably without any blimeshes (i.e. losing to the furd, or having them one-up us in our dream season).
