Price wouldn't be a consideration as I've missed less than a dozen home games since 1964 (mostly as my son played high school football). My fraternity brothers and I used to joke about wanting to get to the RB before we die. This seemed funny 25 years ago, but not so funny anymore now that we're in our mid 60's. With the RB's capacity, likely Cal allotment, and fact that I'm an ESP seat holder, buying tickets won't be the problem - getting there is the PROBLEM! I wish Sonny success with building a winning program cause I'm not getting any younger!

I began going as a little kid. Parents and grandparents had been doing so long before then. Grandpa was in the band and marched in the Rose Bowl. If Grandma is still alive and able, I would pay anything. 2004... we had tickets, hotel reservations along the Rose Bowl route. It was a dream come true. Alas...
She's 94 now.

This obsession sucks, doesn't it? Pretty sure we are not the biggest fan base in the country but I DAMM well know we are the biggest glutton's for punishment. There will be Bears weaping all over America tears of joy when we finally get there.

In January of '59 mom was 5 months pregnant with me. They'd lost their only other pregnancy a year before, and with mom at 37 and dad at 36, they were starting a family ridiculously late for that day and age. So, not wanting to risk losing another baby, and knowing it was likely to be a blow out loss in any case, (Iowa was that good, and Cal, even with Kapp, wasn't really all that much, having won a rump league with others hampered by sanctions in the wake of the whole Ronnie Knox thing) they made a hard decision: to skip that Rose Bowl.

"Oh well," they told themselves, "There will be plenty of other Rose Bowls..... ."

Mom died in '95; dad in '99. And if there's another Rose Bowl, this time in my *post* utero lifetime, you'd better believe I'm not missing it!!

Probably the higher chance of getting RB tickets is the main reason why I'm a season ticket holder.

my brother works for the Rose Bowl and usually gets tickets he sells... for me, free.

With you other fine folks. There (almost literally) isn't a price I wouldn't pay to see this. Take the most expensive sports ticket in the history of the human race and that's what I'd be willing to pay - and I'd be happy to do it.
