Cal Grambling State program
(This is the summary through halftime; this will be updated after the conclusion of the game)
CAL GRA

7 0 Lasco – 5 yard run, 13:04
3 plays, 41 yards, 0:45
Daniel Lasco slanted to the right after taking a handoff from Jared Goff. Following the handoff, Goff continued back and faked a throw which was just enough to cause some defensive hesistation. The Bears scored following a 20-yard screen pass from Goff to Lasco and a 16-yard pass from Goff to Maurice Harris.
14 0 Walker – 14 yard interception return, 7:15

Facing a 2nd-and-7 from their 4, Grambling quarterback Johnathan Williams had two receivers on the right side. He threw it towards wide receiver Brenton Terrence who didn't turn around. The ball bounced off of his back, into the air and was caught by defensive back Cameron Walker. Walker was able to wait for his blocking to form and followed it easily into the end zone.
21 0 Lawler – 3 yard touchdown pass from Goff, 3:04
7 plays, 43 yards, 1:45
In what's likely to be the first of many, Goff threw a simple slant to Kenny Lawler who froze his defender with a hesitation move at the line of scrimmage. The two big plays of the drive were a 13-yard pass from Goff to Harris on 2nd-and-10 from the Grambling 32, and a 15-yard run by Lasco on 2nd-and-10 from the Grambling 19.
28 0 Lawler – 19 yard touchdown pass from Goff, 0:58
2 plays, 23 yards, 0:31
Following a three-and-out and a deflected punt, the Bears had a short field to work with. After a short Lasco run, Goff found Lawler on a play similar to the above touchdown. Lawler ran a deeper slant, was able to get past his defender and caught the ball for an easy touchdown.
35 0 Downs – 8 yard interception return, 0:21

On a 2nd-and-9 from their own 9, Grambling QB Williams faced a heavy rush first from defensive tackle David Davis and then Puka Lopa. Williams was on the verge of being sacked when attempting to throw the ball. The ball hung in the air long enough for Downs to run underneath and then head into the end zone for Cal's second defensive touchdown of the day.

42 0 Lawler – 16 yard touchdown pass from Goff, 13:11
8 plays, 75 yards, 3:11
On a 2nd-and-goal from their own 16, once again it was Goff-to-Lawler. With Grambling blanketing Lawler with defenders on each side, Goff threw a rocket of a pass to Lawler who caught it in stride, for their third touchdown pass of the day. The big play on the drive was 25-yard pass from Goff to Bryce Treggs on 4th-and-7 from the Grambling 33. It was a nice play where the outside receiver on the left side curled in, and Treggs as the inside receiver circled behind him and ran up the left sideline.
45 0 Anderson – 20 yard field goal, 7:52
6 plays, 66 yards, 1:19
Much of the yardage in this drive came from two Khalfani Muhammad runs of 42 and 22 yards – in both cases he was able to find gaps and use his speed to accelerate into open space. He'll be disappointed to have been caught from behind on the 42-yard run – it left the Bears with a 1st-and-goal from the Grambling 5.
52 0 Enwere – 2 yard run; 1:50
13 plays, 95 yards, 4:39
Following an interception by Luke Rubenzer, the Bears drove the length of the field as Goff was 7-for-7 for 72 yards including a 29-yard catch-and-run pass to Bug Rivera. After that it was two Tre Watson runs and one

59 0 Coprich – 1 yard run, 9:53
8 plays, 45 yards, 2:34
Coprich scored on a run up the middle on 4th-and-goal. The Bears had a short field to work with following a Grambling punt. The big play on the drive was a 21-yard pass from Chase Forrest to Kanawai Noa on 3rd-and-6 from the Grambling 41. Forrest started the second half in place of Goff.
66 0 Watson – 6 -yard run, 1:53
8 plays, 55 yards, 2:38
After another short Grambling punt, the Bears strung together a series of short passes with Forrest going 4-of-5 for 52 yards, including a 20-yard completion to Coprich on 3rd-and-14 from the Grambling 45. Coprich scored on an up-the-middle run with 300 pound listed-as-halfback Malik McMorris was used to discourage any overeager linebackers from coming from the outside.

66 7 4 yard pass – Byrdsong from Cherry, 12:40
8 plays, 53 yards, 4:03
Grambling State finally breaks its duck with a short touchdown pass. A 46-yard kickoff return put the ball near midfield. The Tigers went deep into Bear territory with a 37-yard pass from Trevon Cherry to Dominique League. Grambling scored six plays later; facing a 3rd-and-goal from the Cal 4, Cherry took a short drop and fired the ball into the hands of the 6-3 Byrdsong.
66 14 Carter – 90 yard run, 9:37
1 play, 90 yards, 0:17
Following a Cal punt, Carter took a handoff, sped around the left side of the line, broke containment, and sprinted his way to the end zone. Devante Downs was flagged for a face mask penalty on the play.
73 14 Rivera – 63 yard pass from Forrest, 6:54
5 plays, 75 yards, 2:43
Throughout the second half, Forrest demonstrated an exceptional ability to make an adjustment if he noticed an open receiver. In this instance, he was looking to his left, saw Rivera wide open along the right side and threw the pass his way. Rivera fought off a defender to make it into the end zone.
