New Cal offensive line commit Poutasi Poutasi
The transition between new coaching staffs usually proves a little bumpy initially from a recruiting standpoint as a new staff and players figure out fit but the ride just got a little smoother today with the commitment of 6-4/290 Desert Pines (Las Vegas, NV) offensive guard Poutasi Poutasi to the Bears.

The big 3 star lineman's still in the middle of his visit with a large group of recruits on the recruiting season's final weekend but his tweet along with OL QC coach Brian Hamilton's said it all:

While assessing fit during the transition, Cal offensive guard commit Casey Roddick and Cal mutually decided to part ways earlier this week, so Poutasi's commitment to the Bears was a timely one.

Poutasi, the number one rated offensive guard in Nevada, was originally committed to Louisville but chose to reopen his commitment last month. He'll join center Michael Saffell as the second OL in the 2017 class

Poutasi, who also held an offer from Pac-12 rival Utah and several other programs, helped lead his 12-1 Desert Vista squad to a Nevada state championship his senior season.
