The Bears picked up a commitment Wednesday from Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) wing Justice Sueing, joining Roosevelt (Eastvale, CA) point guard Jemarl Baker and Heritage Christian (Anaheim, CA) shooting guard/wing Juhwan Harris-Dyson in the Bears' 2017 class.
Rated 4 stars by ESPN, Sueing announced his decision on Twitter, saying:
"I'd like to thank God for the opportunities that have been given to me.
"Thank you to the coaches and the programs that have been recruiting me and the relationships we've built.
"After a lot of praying and discussion with my family, I have finally come to a decision. I am excited and proud to announce I have verbally committed to continue my education and basketball career at the University of California, Berkeley."
Sueing leads the #5-ranked program in the country in scoring at 17.6 points per game, also chipping in seven rebounds, two assists and 1.7 steals per game for Mater Dei.
The Bears beat out Utah, St. Mary's and Vanderbilt for Sueing's commitment.
