BERKELEY -California men's basketball and Saint Mary's have signed on for a three-game series beginning this season in Berkeley.
The Golden Bears and Gaels will renew their East Bay rivalry beginning December 2017 at Haas Pavilion. The series continues in Moraga during the 2018-19 season, with the finale due back in Berkeley in 2019-20.

The exact date for this season's tilt will be announced in the coming weeks along with Cal's complete nonconference schedule.

"St. Mary's is a high-quality opponent who will offer a great preseason test for us, and we're excited to be able to do that right here in the East Bay and in front of so many of our alumni and fans," said California head coach Wyking Jones. "We're looking forward to showcasing a pair of competitive teams with strong basketball traditions over the next few years.

Cal leads the all-time series, 62-16, after coming away with a victory in the pair's last meeting, a 63-59 thriller in Haas Pavilion on Dec. 12, 2015. Prior to the 2015 matchup, the Bears and Gaels had not met in more than a decade, dating back to Nov. 12, 2004.

The contest with the Gaels boosts a Cal preseason slate that also includes the Maui Invitational in late November, which boasts a field featuring five 2017 NCAA Tournament teams in Marquette, Michigan, Notre Dame, VCU and Wichita State, as well as LSU and Chaminade. The Maui Invitational bracket will be announced this summer.

Season ticket deposits are available now by calling the Gold Standard Sales and Service line at (800) GO BEARS (462-3277) or by visiting CalBears.com.

Cal's full nonconference schedule will be revealed this summer, with Pac-12 scheduling, game times and complete television broadcast information expected in September.
