Bears Busy Lining up June Official Visits

With spring ball in the books and staff on the road for May player evals, the Bears will host a great number of their '23 targets on official visits in June.

Last season, their June official visits yielded a big crop of early commits, including DE Nate Burrell‍, OLB Curlee Thomas‍, fellow OLB Nunie Tuitele‍ and OG Sioape Vatikani‍. Several other June visitors eventually jumped in the boat, including Jackson Brown‍, Ashton Hayes‍, Trent Ramsey‍, Jaydn Ott‍ and Jaiven Plummer‍.

Here’s a rundown of who’s locked in official visits. As more OVs are announced, they’ll be added to the story.

May 12-15

Isaiah Chisom‍ 3 stars 6-1/220 Chaminade (West Hills, CA) High School OLB -The SoCal ILB was offered by Cal in April and visited for the Spring Showcase, where the Bears made a big impression. His first official visit was June 2 at Oregon State.

Sailasa Vadrawale‍ 3 star 6-0/175 Rancho Cotate (Rohnert Park, CA) High School CB -Only OV scheduled

Palaie Faoa‍ 3 star 6-1/215 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, NV) High School MLB -Only OV scheduled

Blake Purchase‍ 4 star 6-4/220 Cherry Creek (Englewood, CO) High School OLB - The talented 4 star OLB line up his second OV of the season and second trip to Cal, replacing his UT OV with the Bears a week after visiting Iowa State. His last visit of the month will go to Oregon next weekend.

Brad Spence‍ 4 star 6-2/225 Klein Forest (Houston, TX) High School OLB -The Bears get the second of the 4 star OLB’s scheduled official visits a week after visiting Arkansas.

Marquise Collins‍ 3 star 5-10/200 College Station (College Station, TX) High School RB -The Texas RB will take his third of three official visits to Cal on 6/17 following OVs to Utah 6/3 and Boston College 6/10. The All-State RB got his Cal offer last month.

Nyziah Hunter‍ 3 star 6-2/190 Salinas (Salinas, CA) High School WR -The speedy receiver pulled in a Cal offer in recent weeks and set up an official visit to Cal the third weekend in June. He holds offers from Washington, Oregon State, BYU and Army in addition to Cal.

Soane Faasolo‍ 3 star 6-7/285 Menlo-Atheron (Menlo Park, CA) High School OT -The big OT with offers from UW, OSU and BYU will follow up his June 3 Oregon State visit with his second of two scheduled official visits to Cal June 17.

Jaeden Moore‍ 3 star 6-4/230 OLB Central Valley Christian (Visalia, CA) High School -Fourth of 4 OVs scheduled (UW 6/3, WSU 6/10, Arizona 6/17)

Jasiah Wagoner‍ 4 star 5-11/170 Spanaway Lake (Spanaway, WA) High School CB -Second of 2 OVs scheduled (Notre Dame 6/17)

Cameron Brandt‍ 4 stars 6-3/260 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA) High School DE -Only OV scheduled. Was originally set for June 9 but could end up the final weekend of June instead.

Caleb Lomu‍ 4 stars 6-5/265 Highland (Gilbert, AZ) High School OT -The 4 star Arizona OT added an official visit the last weekend in June following his OVs to Arizona June 10 and Utah June 17.

Cameron Cook‍ 4 stars 5-10/180 Stony Point (Round Rock, TX) High School RB -Following OVs to Penn State, Kansas State and TCU, the Bears get the last OV of the summer for the talented Texas running back.

Jonah Lea'ea‍ 3 stars 6-4/195 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, NV) High School OLB -Following an earlier OV to Arizona, the Bishop Gorman OLB will visit Cal the last weekend in June for his second visit back in as many months.

Zander Esty‍ 6-5/275 Placer (Auburn, CA) High School OT - Following an impressive Sacramento combine where he pulled in offers from Cal, Oregon State and Washington State, the Sacto area OT scheduled his first official visit for the final summer visit weekend in June to Cal.
