Ott should be ranked higher, but at least he's listed. Bloesch is very run-oriented and if he is as good as his supporters say he is, and gets the ball to Ott outside the tackles where he can break off big runs, Ott could end up with 1,800 or more. Hopefully he leads the ACC in our first year there. Looking forward to getting some insight from Spring ball.

The thread title made me worried Ott changed his jersey number!

I'm all for getting Ott the ball in space, but Bloesch's play calling in the bowl game was not impressive. Those were unusual circumstances, of course, and Bloesch will have a whole season to show us what he can do.

But I digress: Ott is amazing and I'm stoked he is playing for Cal another year.

The play calling in the bowl was bad. No if ands or buts. As a preview of the coming season it was the opposite of inspiring. Seems like Wilcox could have made Bloesch "interim" OC for the bowl game and then made him permanent if his performance warranted it.

Bloesch did "wonders" with the OL but that was in the context of Spavital's Air Raid that made the OL look great in 2016 too. It would seem to me we don't have the dominant OL to actually be "run first" in the ACC like North Texas could be in their conference. Seems like Wilcox is again wanting to slow up the game to make Sirmon's defense look better. Fernando was good when throwing quick short passes in Spavital's Air Raid, but less good if the play took longer to develop. Maybe Chandler Rodgers will win the job?

Hope for the best. We'll know more soon enough.
