Nice thing about these photos is that #11 and #12 show the Hayward fault markings - something I had hard was present, but I had not seen when I was at the game myself.

Nice bunch of pics though, although somehow no one got round to taking a picture of the final scoreboard.

Nice bunch of professional looking pics. Score aside, I'm sure that was a nice experience for Ole Miss, as it will be for us going there. I've always been a fan of these kinds of matchups and fan exchanges.

Also, clear evidence of another hands to the face penalty that wasn't called, but it's cool.

There is a picture of the Ole Miss Head coach with a state trooper (?) on each side. Does Cal do something similar or is this an SEC thing?

Chad Handsome is in one of these photos. Did his NFL team play in the Bay Area last weekend?

Then that explains it. Kind of nice for a bunch of recruits see our win plus in-the-flesh NFL alumni at the game.

Excellent photos and great action photos too, although #200 made me cringe (Laird getting bent backward).
Kudos to the photographer(s).

I could've sworn I've seen Tedford at away games surrounded by 2 UC police (or CHP?) officers.

But I looked up the end of the 2012 Ohio State game on youTube, and he has two apparently Ohio State cops with him.

Also, at the end of the Texas game in Austin, Dykes is accompanied by Texas cops.

They certainly did. I googled Mississippi State Troopers:

Same uniform and shoulder patch logo. How in the world is this legal?

Probably they cant make arrests. It is just for show. I am pretty sure they can be in uniform and carry a firearm because states reciprocate LEOs carrying, or maybe its an federal thing. I know they used to be able to carry on flights. Maybe still?

I say a lot of that because cops from around the country show up for funerals in kind of the same way: uniform with gun etc.

I am not sure what is stranger. That Cops are such a visible part of the game, or that Cal apparently participated.

i think california's open carry law also is at play in why theboutbof state officers are allowed to carry their firearms in california...

as for the uniforms, i'm guessing (this is entirely a shot in the dark here and apropos of nothing) that it has to do with the fact that the uniforms self-identify as not being california police and so would not run afoul of any laws re impersonating a police officer...

Very nice photo's .. . . . I wonder if they get to wear their NWO belts or do their chicken comb to the forehead hand salute on the way back to the bus?

All the beautiful scenery both outside and inside the stadium must've baffled all those Mississippians expecting Berkeley to be a hippy-ridden slum.

I read that the only other time Ole Miss has come to California for a football game is against Fresno State in 2011. And after having seen all the social media of the Ole Miss team and fans enjoying the sights of Berkeley and San Francisco Bay (hat tip to Okaydo), I couldn't help but think that they must have been surprised at the differences between Fresno and Berkeley and surroundings, given that we are in the same state.

By the way, the hippie days are over but there sure are a lot of homeless on the Southside. No telling if that met their expectations.

is it just me, or were there no pictures from the second half of the game?

It seems to be a tradition in the South for the visiting team to bring along state troopers from their home state. You see this especially in the SEC, for example, with Alabama troopers guarding Lou Saban like G-men for the postgame handshake. The smokey-the-bear hats make them stand out. Bringing their own troopers seems like both a show of force for the team and a symbol of how much importance they place on football in the South, like the head coach is some sort of god-king attended by Praetorian guards.

To my knowledge the Pac doesn't do this. I've never noticed Cal coaches being escorted around by CHP officers at away games. It's a foolish expense anyway, when you can use local police.
