In March, Conan O'Brien got to interview Burt Reynolds, whom he apparently idolized as a kid. It was an extended really in-depth interview.

RIP Burt Reynolds. Smokey and the Bandit and the Cannonball Run were some of my favorite movies growing up. And his stache belongs in the Stache Hall of Fame.

Yep, I watched a lot of Burt Reynolds movies during my teenage years. Good memories.

Does this mean Lonnie Anderson is on the market again?? Most of you know who she is ....

Anyway, RIP Burt ... You were the definition of macho many years ago

I think she is past shelf code for 99.9% of the BI community.

Burt Reynolds movies at the drive ins. Good memories. Sharky's Machine is still one of my all time favorite movies.

Thanks for posting. I just got around to watching. If any BI people were a fans of Burt it is well worth viewing. It inspired me to look for his early days segments on Carson. I will post one if I think it stands out.

I was watching College GameDay today, and Lee Corso paid a very heartfelt tribute to Burt Reynolds. They were teammates at Florida State; Burt was a running back for the Seminoles.

And a very talented one at that.

Corso said that Burt injured his knee and had to leave school, and while he was out of school, he took acting lessons. He then went up to Corso and told him that he was going to go to Hollywood to become an actor, and Corso was predictably incredulous. The rest, of course, was history.

Corso and Reynolds remained good friends for 64 years. It was a nice tribute. The Bandit will be missed.

Burt defined cool and macho as only you could do in the late 70s and early 80s. He was the movie star of that time. He became a cult legend for turning down iconic roles. He was a great interview til his last days. I'll miss him.
