I hope to be good. However, depending on how good "good" is (not Goode), if we're gonna be a 7-8 game winning team this year, we'll have to beat some pretty decent teams along the way. The only "gimme" in the North is Oregon State this year, the other four are going to give us games ranging from competitive to really tough.

But if you really think about it, when's the last time we straight up beat a good team? (I don't count WSU last year cause that involved a ton of weird circumstances)

Like furd 09 may be the last time? Oregon 07?

Honestly, I don't think we're to the point where we can beat Oregon if they are playing their best.

But if they come out flat or if we can turn them over, we could definitely take them.

I'll be ecstatic if I'm wrong.

I think Oregon probably stays in just because the score looks so close and UDub doesn't look too hot. That's good for us but we have to beat them next week.

2009 Stanford finished 8-5 and unranked, and we easily could have lost that game.

We just straight up beat a top 25 BYU team though.

The Bengals beat #22 Noth Dakota St.......

Concur. WSU counts. It was a great win over a great team- the type that we used to get from 2002-2009 but never managed once under Dykes (even with two NFL QB's at the helm). Wilcox has shown he can do it, now it's time to do it again.

Beating a good BYU team at Provo was a straight up win.

BYU was a good win over a 1-0 team, but WSU was 6-0 and #8 in the country. Not the same thing.

Not sure if you were at that game, but that game just had a strange feeling from the start.

Before the game even started, there were doubts whether the game would even be played.

Then at game time, the stands were empty, and there was just this solemn feeling around the stadium. It didn't feel like a football game at all.

I'm a relatively young and healthy person and even I was affected by the air quality just sitting there. I can't imagune how the players were affected who were running around full speed. It was just not a normal game.

WSU looked flat the whole game and they were definitely affected by the exterior factors.

So yes it counts as a win, but it doesn't count as an instance where we beat a team at their best.

BYU as well. Their coach straight up admitted during their postgame they probably were overlooking us.

All I'm saying is this. I think the Oregon game is probably a toss up. I don't see us being more than 3.5 dogs. It's a game that could definitely go either way.

With that said, that's the best half of football I've seen a Pac-12 team play this year, hands down. Oregon may have the highest ceiling of any team in the league, including uw. So If Oregon comes out pissed and playing motivated, I think it'll be very very difficult to beat them.
