Fullerton College WR Jawaun Johnson Talks Cal Commitment
The Bears picked up their second of likely four receivers for the 2019 recruiting class, garnering a commitment from Fullerton College slot Jawaun Johnson after his official visit over the weekend.
The visit made a big impression on the soph receiver.
“I really enjoyed myself and loved my time up in Berkeley,” said Johnson. “I can’t wait to get back on campus.
“As soon I stepped on campus I just felt the love from coaching staff and right then and there I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I’m just excited to have the opportunity to be apart of this organization.”
The speedy (10.8 100) receiver shows good strength, ability to break tackles and vision, able to pick up solid yards after catch -something you like to see in slot receivers.
In his soph season, Johnson was a big play receiver for Fullerton, hauling in 30 receptions for 590 yards (19.67 yards per catch) and four touchdowns in eight games.
