Since it's an 11:30 am kickoff on Saturday, gonna need to find a good spot for Mimosas with breakfast. Any suggestions that are on University Ave or within walking distance to the stadium?
Rick and Anns is breakfast and be prepared for possible family seating. Our favorite morning spot in Berkeley btw. There can be a wait, especially on game day.Another Bear said:

Yes, there can be a wait...and perhaps no alcohol given it's breakfast?wifeisafurd said:Rick and Anns is breakfast and be prepared for possible family seating. Our favorite morning spot in Berkeley btw. There can be a wait, especially on game day.Another Bear said:

Skates in the Marina does a decent brunch on Sundays, not sure about Saturday.
That beats the $13 beers at Memorial...so load up pre-game! I always liked Au Coquelet because it's one of the few places in Berkeley open late, like bar hours. The front is basic Cal study hall scene...but the back is nice enough, decent food if not hipster fare.calumnus said:Another Bear said:

Good ones.
On University there is Au Coquelet which has $16 bottomless mimosas:

I don't recall there ever being booze at breakfast. The food is outstanding.Another Bear said:Yes, there can be a wait...and perhaps no alcohol given it's breakfast?wifeisafurd said:Rick and Anns is breakfast and be prepared for possible family seating. For the win and it's not even close.evanluck said:
I would add Bette's Oceanviee Diner to the list of already mentioned good options
Rick and Ann's definitely has mimosas, Skates doesn't open until 11. La Note has mimosas. Have not been to Venus in years.wifeisafurd said:I don't recall there ever being booze at breakfast. "not even close"...hmm Bette's is meh and the crowd and lines are annoying and menu uninspired.Cal Junkie said:For the win and it's not even close.evanluck said:

Wow, had no idea it's been around since the '40s.NYCGOBEARS said:
Can't believe Au Coquelet is still open. That place was my hang back in the day.
Royal Cafe is great!OneTopOneChickenApple said:
Some that haven't been mentioned:
Walking distance to stadium (somewhat) - Guerilla Cafe on Shattuck and Cedar. Great polenta.
Not walking distance: Royal Cafe in Albany, on San Pablo Ave. and Solano Ave. Great fried chicken.

it was arguably one of the best pre wwii eateries in town save MacFarlanes on Solano in Albany. Pappy (in '48), speaking of Au Coquelet noted 'the crepe Suzette is merveilleux, its my "go to", glad I found this joint'.okaydo said:Wow, had no idea it's been around since the '40s.NYCGOBEARS said:

Not worth the wait. I like the food but waited over an hour last time. You better get there by 8:30.
