Something to be Thankful for.

We have the weather for it, we should take advantage. Learn from those who go first and be ready to postpone if necessary.

Best to have thought ahead and played an abbreviated season of say 8-10 games in September, October and November or dither and then begin the season in late November coinciding with the start of cold and flu season (kicking off with the Thanksgiving holiday when homes overflowing with family become bacteria and virus incubators)?

I assume many have read the new teeth gnashing articles about what might happen when flu and Covid infections happen at the same time, right? Glad the conference is doing this right and not reacting to what's happening in Austin, Tuscaloosa and, now, Ann Arbor.

that is the current plan absent a waiver from Newsom.

IIRC, Newsom already issued an order that says schools are ok to play college sports once they get a green light from local officials, and it's the local health authorities in the Bay Area and LA that are the holdup.

From Bruce Feldman at The Athletic...

"Our CEO's don't seem to be worried (about rushing to match a Big Ten return) and certainly haven't taken any heat another high-ranking Pac-12 administrator said, "I just don't think they budge until (we have) daily testing and the California schools get on board."

IMO, that just adds to the thinking that mid-late November is likely.

Screw Stanford. Who needs them anyway?

Maybe it's fun to joke about Furd eating s@##$, but I'm much more worried about the City of Berkeley and Cal.

Santa Clara County has already granted a waiver for.thhe 49ers, so there is precedent (Furd is also not it PA city jurisdiction I believe).

But Cal has 2 entities, alameda county and the cob....

That said, classes are online, so players really just need housing, fast internet, and practice facilities - which could be anywhere.

Hey Beau - can we crash in SLO for 8 weeks?

Or even check out Laney...
