Hell no they don't deserve bonuses, especially Larry Scott. That he would earn $2.2 million in bonuses and incentive compensation payments in fiscal year 2019/2020 is absolutely absurd for a senior executive who should be fired based on his performance.

The Pac-12 Conference universities were blindsided a couple of weeks ago when Scott suddenly called a news conference and announced daily rapid-results COVID-19 testing was available. The campus athletic departments had no idea what was coming until hours before.

It explains so much, doesn't it?

Legend Labs -- Scott's trusted public relations consultant -- was aware, per multiple Pac-12 sources. It knew for days or maybe weeks that Quidel would provide the conference with rapid-results testing. But the ADs, coaches and athletes had to wait until Sept. 3 to learn? It explains why the campuses appeared so unprepared. Coaches felt especially jilted because in some cases they'd sent players home. But Scott wanted to break the "game-
changing news" himself.

It was the act of an insecure leader.

There have been too many public failures for Scott to still be in his seat.

When G1 and I agree on something, it has to be right so you can shut this thread down now.

Scott is wrapping his lips around the "i'm going to get fired" revolver. This is exactly contrary to one of the demands of the players group. Its bad enough they feel underpaid but it irritates them to see coaches and administrators profiting hugely from their work. The furloughs were hard on people and showed the players they shared their pain. To pay bonuses knowing its going to alienate them further is salt in their wound.

What a great message this sends all the staff, coaches, and there at every school who took pay cuts for who were given effective pay cuts through furlough at literally every school in the conference. Not to mention players and co coaches on teams that had roster cuts or face being cut (or have been cut).

It is like he is taunting the players, the fans, the ADs, the university presidents and everyone who worked for him....

The sooner he gets fired, the sooner he can't give himself another bonus.

The bit about knowing the deal for tests was going to happen well before sept 3, but not telling teams is also a bad look. Utah in particular should be mad - I'm sure they don't announce that furlough if there was hope for a season soon.

Bonuses for making the Pac-12 the least financially competitive major conference?? For the lousiest TV contracts? For horrible scheduling? For flubbing Fall sports? Forget about furloughs and layoffs, that's typical executive garbage that goes on everywhere. But they didn't perform well by any metric. They got bonuses for sucking.
