Jeff Goodman of ESPN has his non-conference awards/all-americans ($), and Ty is on his first team. Good recognition for Ty.

Quote:

G: Tyrone Wallace, 6-5, Jr., California Golden Bears
Stats: 19.3 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 4.1 APG, 50 pct. FG, 44 pct. 3-pointers

He’s a long, versatile point guard who is putting up crazy numbers for a team that isn’t overly deep and has been without Jabari Bird for a while now. Wallace can get to the basket and make plays for himself and his teammates, and he’s also making shots from long range (50 percent). He ranks second in the Pac-12 in scoring, third in rebounding, third in 3-point percentage and eighth in assists per game.

Prediction: Look for Wallace to drop back a bit, because the Bears just don’t have enough around him and may lose a bunch of games in the Pac-12.

The "making shots from long range" is a tad misleading for those that don't regularly attend or watch games. I doubt that is the entry being made by pro scouts in their reports regarding long range scoring.

It is true this year. Whether it holds up or not remains to be seen.

Once again, at the college level, Wallace has Dr. J's game. He is AWESOME around the rim. A buddy of mine recently commented that that MJ was the only player with major hops that was a decent outside shooter. Wallace has major hops.

True. However, in their projections I'm not sure scouts are writing up that Ty will light it up from deep in the NBA. Or even be a legitimate threat for that matter.

Not true. Wallace has only has decent hops, and there have been plenty of outstanding leapers, even by NBA standards, that have been threats from outside. Off the top of my head, Vince Carter, Jason Richardson, Kobe Bryant, Michael Finley, & JR Smith are all in the top 25 or 30 in 3s made. What else do they have in common? They are all 6'7" or under and have participated in (and in a few cases won) the dunk contest.

I dont get this Wallace love, if you cant make free throws, your not a complete basketball player, in fact, in the clutch your a liability for times will look to foul you. If Wallace makes his free throws, we win despite how horribly everyone, not named Kravish played.

Quit clouding the issue with the facts.

Does anyone get this Wallace hate? So far this season he's the best player we've had since Ryan Anderson. Crabbe never got this much hate, and he couldn't create his own shot. Neither did Cobbs. Jorge never got any hate, because he had a nice story.

Don't have time to detail it, but you have a superficial slant on Jorge.

Not that that is your main point.

Lots of contrarians on sports boards
You would think that everyone here are from the debate team
You can hardly make any statement without 5 people picking it apart for even the smallest disagreement or inaccuracies

If this was a live group of people who meet in a room every day we would all dislike each other very quickly

Think about it

P.S. Another thing about boards is one or two people throw up extreme views (I call them riot inciting) and then the whole discussion sinks to a predictable path down the drain.
