Is it just me or does JJ appear to be twice as quick as any other player on the court? He lit Cal up in his Northeastern days for 26 points and 9 assists. He makes you think that Randle would have a puncher's chance if someone took a risk on him. Switching back to Dirk, before the LA series started, Sir Charles opined that Dirk was the best player on the court and that the Mavs would win.

Berea is 10 times tougher and a better defender than Randle ever showed at Cal.

He looks like he is willing to fight any man out there. Their knees would be toast.

I do see some similarities to Randle, in that both are fearless and sometimes foolish in their determination to get to the basket or to launch quick and long 3's.

I have not watched Dallas before the playoffs, but imagine that Carlisle knows when to give him the quick hook when his swashbuckling game is not working. When it is working, like last night, it is really extraordinary to see.

Oh man I didn't even realize that the guy who lit us up was JJ Barea.

I thought the same thing. I don't know JJ much, but watching him in the last two games vs the Lakers I thought that if this guy could make a team that Randle could.

Randle is a better shooter, just as quick and just as good at dishing. But it what made me think that Randle could make a team if he could was his lack of defense. Guys were repeatedly blowing by him like he wasn't even there for defense.

Also, anyone take notice that Kidd was the 'shooting' guard?

Anyone see Barea's postgame interview?

He said, "...my big men just set me hella screens to get me open..."

I guess he picked up the local lingo when he torched us that day! :p

Did a pretty good job, too.

Maybe there is a "J" in Jason after all. :p

I would love to see them run a 40 yard dash. I have never seen anyone slice through a line of defenders like JJ. He makes them all look like they are standing still.

perhaps you are talking about fast breaks. I've never seen JJ on a fast break where speed is the most important thing (like a 40 yard dash). What I was talking about was quickness and ball handling (and ability to use screens off of pick and rolls) to get into the paint.

What's really significant there, is that Jason is guarding Kobe. The old man can still move his feet pretty good.

No surprise that he knows the local lingo, given that he has been in the US for about the last 10 years, and before that lived in Puerto Rico, which is not exactly Taiwan.
