Cal v. Boston College, Nevada v. St. Mary's, AZ v. St. John's and Stanford v. San Diego at the Chase Center in a quadruple header on Dec 21 in the inaugural Al Attles Classic. Quite a day of hoops at the new Warriors venue in SF.

Are any of the teams in this classic expected to be any good?

I thought he said San Diego U. We don't need an outfielder, we just need JHD to at least finish his layups, make a 10-footer off the glass now and then and make his FTs.

That was probably a political decision, but I think the idea has merit, to honor USF with the first college games to be played in the new arena. USF has three National basketball Championships and no other Bay Area school has more than one.

I think that's correct. USF probably wanted to play the first college game there, and the people in charge of Chase Center want to be good neighbors in San Francisco.
