Energy was good, clear plan on offense and the PNr defense improved in the second half (still wasn't great). I'll take baby steps
Also what gets lost in the jhd missed dunk was that it was him properly playing correct PNR defense that caused the turnover.
PNr D was atrocious in first half. Smc was picking on Austin/kelly every single possession. Bad D was often either poor communication between Austin/kelly, or Austin simply not big enough/long enough to fight thru screens and/or recover and too much overhelping by off ball defenders allowing for wide open kick outs.
In second half, cal tried to mush/push the PNR more (which is my preference). When they did hedge, the hedge man did a better job showing but not losing the screen man (which happened too often in 1st H). And cal stopped over helping. Fox made some clear adjustments on PNr defense. Also helped that Austin was on bench during the stretch run.
The difference between the 1H PNr defense and the 2H PNr defense was the difference in the game.
