If I had a vote, I'd vote no. They screwed up the PAC10 by adding Utah and Colorado, for basketball anyway. conference ball should be a home and home competition between conference schools, as it always has been. Adding Utah and Colorado wrecked that, because it would make for too long a conference schedule. I would maybe go for it if they eliminated some of the pushover non-conference games instead.

While I agree about not adding more colleges, we are going to a 20 game schedule next year from the 18 game schedule this year. I read that the coaches wanted fewer ofc games which were hard to schedule.

Yes. Add St. Mary's also and eliminate some of the non-conference games.

Now a better argument could be made for Boise and San Diego State. Now that will NEVER happen because, in part, neither is a research university (an "R1" in Carnegie speak). But there is no way Gonzaga should be added - especially with the lack of football and being in the same media market as Wazzu (SDSU and BSU would give you additional ones. You could make the same argument for SDSU and UNLV but that unbalances the north and south)

The rule is they have to play football so the discussion is pointless. Of course a lot of discussion is pointless. Let's assume they could join just for basketball. You have to look at a schools potential bad days as well as good. If at any point they have a down turn in fortunes, they are completely useless to the conference.

No. No way.

Pac-12 is a conference of major academic/research comprehensive universities with very large highly reputable graduate programs worldwide. That is a part of why Pac-12 did not take BYU (the other part is Pac-12 does not take religion based schools).

Even if Fox s only sports, how many team national championships has Zigzaga won? Is it still zero?

Why would Gonzaga want to ruin its great BB program?

rather stupid idea from Seth. The CFB championship will expand to 16 teams before the Pac even considers a non-R1, non-football Uni.
