And some said it couldn't be done! Lars had his best outing by far this year at Chase. Other than a couple of fumbled passes, there wasn't a lot to criticize and he certainly looked more comfortable with the speed/flow of the game.

That was some long float in the air to the rim by Lars. Dude is in need of a summer of swag. Seems he has the physical tools.

I bet Fox is telling them not to shoot as they hesitate even when open.

I agree regarding the physical tools. When he blocked a shot against Boston College, it looked like he got pretty far off the ground. The game needs to slow down for him, which it will. He's hit a little hook shot on several occasions and probably ought to get the ball 4-5 times a game where he can take that shot. He doesn't have a 3pt shot, but in every other respect I think he has more potential than Vanover.

Note that the last time we played Stanfurd, Vanover had 24 pts, 5 rbs, 6 blks... and we won. The second time we play 'em THIS season, if Lars has as many boards and HALF as many points and blocks (and, of course, we win), I will be ecstatic, but I am not holding my breath.

If, next season, Lars has a better season for us than Vanover does for Arkansas, I will also be pleased, since I root for the guys that stay Golden Bears. Again though, I am not holding my breath.

Our guy has some potential. I hope he realizes it for us.

Yah Vanover is a unicorn probably would have been an elite recruit if he was doing things he did last year as a 7 footer in high school. Kind of a poor man's Kristops. I was hoping Lars would fill his vacancy, and he may in different aspects, but Vanover was the huge loss of those who transferred. Imagine if we still had Charlie and Vanover. Oh my.

Could it be that Wyking, or an assistant coached Vanover up to become as good as he was in the latter part of the season? Wyking was a post as a player.
