dear Redless. A Harvard win would BE A SHOCK. Since when does a Cal basketball team LOSE TO AN IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL WHICH DOESN'T HAVE SCHOLARSHIPS? I don't care how good Harvard has become in recent years. That simply means that Harvard GIVES A DAMN ABOUT A BASKEBALL PROGRAM WHILE CAL CARES MORE ABOUT PROVIDING SHELTER FOR THE DRUGGIES AND HOMELESS ON TELEGRAPH AVE. Everything in life is about priorities. Cal better not lose to damn Harvard....
We already did lose to Harvard, by 5 points at Haas, and it was only 7 years ago. And we lost to Yale, for goodness sakes, by 17 points, just last season, in China. Overall, Cal is 19-5 vs the Ivy League. We beat Penn in the NCAA in 2002, and we have never played Brown. Here is Cal's record vs the Ivy League :

Harvard 2-1
Yale 2-1
Dartmouth 3-0
Columbia 4-0
Princeton 5-1
Penn 2-1
Cornell 1-1
Brown 0-0

That loss to Cornell came when Cal had Jason Kidd and Lamond Murray
Yes, Cal lost that game by 20 points. What was maybe worse was losing to James Madison by 15 the previous night. Not the finest hour of Kidd and Murray, nor was it the finest Hour of Campanelli. Cal was ranked #19 going in to the James Madison game, and was dropped from the AP poll after that, never to return that season, according to sports-reference.com.

And then went on to have the greatest cal b-ball season of my lifetime.

Ducky,

I hope you will see many more seasons like that one, and even better. Have faith.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." - the Apostle Paul (Hebrews 11:1)

Well, Ducky, there was the ABC (anyone but campanelli) factor

Bearister: I see you have chosen option B as your response to the train wreck we call Cal athletics. Then, the damn football team has to ruin our funeral plans by winning a bowl game. As the old Italian man said in the movie "moonstruck, " I'm so confused." Happy and prosperous new year to all faithful Bears on this site.
