A couple of splits to start the year.,

The 12-Pac standings have an eight-way tie for third.
  • Oregon, Oregon State, Colorado, Utah, Washington State, Washington, USC and UCLA are all 1-1
  • Arizona and Stanford are 1-0
  • Cal and ASU are 0-1

Not a single school got to 2-0

Not enough data to say the PAC is mediocre. Evenly matched, maybe.

Good post, those are interesting results. In order to get 8 teams go 1-1 like that, you need to get reversed results within the pairings, which indicates a lot up-and-down play.

For example, Oregon lost to Colorado but beat Utah, while OSU beat Colorado but lost to Utah
Similarly, UCLA beat Washington but lost to WSU, while USC lost to Washington but beat WSU.

Or to look at it another way:

Oregon > Utah > OSU > Colorado > Oregon
UCLA > Washington > USC > WSU > UCLA

proving once again the transitive property does not apply in Sports.
