Jinxed him with this thread. 0-7 tonight.
It's all just entertainment, so find a way to enjoy it.
The refs are there to feed your hatred addiction and keep the games close.

yeah, 0-7 but I was watching him as a defender and rebounder

he is a good post defender and rebounder

Yes, indeed. He's very sound fundamentally. Sometimes the shots just aren't falling.

I wonder what was wrong, because he wasn't just 0-7, but his shots weren't even close (2 airballs and 3 others that barely grazed front rim).

If we look at his game logs, he has been inconsistent. In more than half his games he has shot well, but in some of those games, he took very few shots. I half his games he has scored well 9 point or better, but in the other half of his games, he has scored 6 points or less. If we say 7 rebounds was a good figure for a power forward, then he has only reached that figure in half of his games. In half of his games he got 6 or less rebounds.

He is often matched against more athletic players, and he is not very quick. I missed the USC game, but in previous games his shot selection was sometimes questionable, as he was shooting with one or two defenders in his face. He is still greatly improved over last year, and he's only had half a season as a starter, so I expect him to get more consistent with more games under his belt.

good observations; however, last night it seemed that even on relatively open shots (even from inside the FT line) he was very far off and almost always short.

I think that USC's size and athleticism sped him up too much. While he is physically improved, they are at a much different level.
