Since Bradley hit his 3 he hasn't gotten another shot. Paris Austin is not who I want taking shots late in a game

We'll always have Paris

Jones had horrible defenses. Fox has these kids locking it down. I think we hired a coach. Now, let's see him recruit.
Spot on. Fox can coach. No question. Cannot imagine how good this could be if given improved talent. The team played great tonight start to finish against a tough foe. Excellent job. I did not think I would be this excited about Cal BB for the next year or two. Wow

Couldn't go to game tonight and only listened to second half (except for last 3 minutes which I saw on tv)

Looking at box score this was a very even game in every category

Even the turnovers were even

But the ducks had a few more possessions and hit 1 more 3

Despite being down 10 very late in the game, bears could have tied it if they stole the last inbounds pass and immediately hit a 3

Their press was a bear (or should I say a duck). They forced a lot of turnovers, which made the difference.

Duck fan in front of me confirmed for me that I like their fan base the least of any in the conference.

Ducks really closed the rebound gap towards end of game and that converted to some points. I think we had'em by 12 boards at one point.

I think the floor has clearly been established and it's much higher than I expected when Fox was first hired.

If Fox can turn Paris into a defensive stud, then I'm fairly confident that fox's teams will always be very good defensively with even average talent. And that alone will probably put us in the middle of the conference (as a floor)

The question (which we have discussed ad nauseam) is whether fox can recruit good to elite talent. That will determine the ceiling.

I think Austin always had the tools to be a good defender but never before showed he could focus on it. Kudos to Fox for the mental leap.

Proud of our guys. They absolutely battled against a quality Oregon team. Reluctant tip of the hat to Pritchard for taking over the game in the 2H and showing that he's deserving of POY consideration. Nice to see South snapping out of his funk to deliver some high quality minutes. Bradley as always was the rock.

Games like this can turn on so many little things especially in close games. Fortunately, Fox is the kind of coach that focus on these small thingss which is why we can even compete in a game like this with the talent level we have. Still need to get better though. Things like Lars slow to rotate with help D cost several buckets and Bradley loafing for a second on a close out of Pritchard led to a huge 3. But in general, I applaud the team's attention to detail and am proud of how we played last night.

Need to go get an OSU win.

Matt Bradley extended his hand to assist a fallen player up from the court last night. Paris Austin did same a couple of games back. You never see that anymore at any level. It makes me very proud of our team.

I only saw last few minutes of Oregon game, but Matt did that in a prior game too

I thought it was very classy too

This team is easy to root for

It was another game I thought I could leave early for dinner. But was dissapointed that I enjoyed it too much to do so. In the end, it shows that Cal can't afford to make too many mistakes and that Oregon's length and depth and speed wears down the opponent at the end.

FOX - good game plan and adjustments. I thought the team was well prepared for this tough matchup

Paris - I thought it was his best game as a bear. He seemed to really take pride on the defensive end and it showed.

Lars - great start, but returned to form for most of the rest of the game. I think his fatigue showed the most in second half, but I consider his overall game vs UO as developmental progress.

Bradley - this is the Bradley I expect - which is a load. If he has an off night, we're toast - but he's a gamer.

Antecevich, South - good, but not great games. We need these guys offensively to contend. Grant seemed to have better position and spark on the glass and Kareem was feeling his shot.

Bench - a little short (makes sense against UO), but showing individual development. Kelly as expected, Thorpe and Kuany coming along, but Brown seemed to suffer against the pressure.

I hate to say it was a good loss, but other than the second half scoring drought, we had this one! Pretty happy for this team and I hope they didn't exhaust themselves before the OSU matchup on Saturday.

Go Bears!

Pisses off Cal Strong, though.

He probably would not extend his hand to CS, but perhaps a kick in the narduccis.

The TV announcers last night were not only gushing about Mark Fox's coaching, but they said that he has assembled a first-rate coaching staff with tons of experience and wisdom. It seems that in addition to his coaching skill, Fox deserves credit for assembling a strong supporting coaching staff, and that his coaching staff deserve a share of the credit for how much Cal has improved.

When have you ever heard an ex-coach, now TV analyst, not speak positively of an active coach? Just doesn't happen and Braun is no exception.

In fairness, Braun will never say anything negative bout anyone or anything. I like Braun a lot but I'm not a fan of his as an announcer. It's just too much unicorns and rainbows for my taste.
