Their reaction to da Silva's injury with the Buffs was pure class. Kudos to Haase.

I agree. Very touching. It also underscores the danger of trying to set up a driving offensive player for a charge when the defender is not set and cannot safely choreograph a flop ( I assume that is what da Silva had in mind, if not, what was the plan?).

agree - both teams acted quite honorably, and very honest emotionally. Good reflection on college basketball, and we need more of that (compare to the recent Kansas - K State game). Haven't heard yet of any updates on DaSilva's condiiton - anyone?

I'm not one to idolize players, but as a sports for more than 50 years I can't image anyone not being a fan of Colorado's Evan Battey.

First of all,Oscar da Silva's horrific injury (hope he's okay) wasn't even Battey's fault, yet the young man showed great integrity and sportsmanship in trying to shoulder the blame for it. Something you rarely see these days.

On top of that, despite the fact that he was visually upset, he showed the courage to come back into the game and play his heart out while dealing with the emotion. His performance and the both teams' actions certainly made my day as a sports fan. Sorry for the melodrama, but this one was really nice.

Haase was my favorite player while at Cal. Good luck to Da Silva.

Never saw both teams huddle up like that. Can't lie teared up a little. Here it is if you haven't see.

Lacerations to the side of his head (required stitches) and probable concussion.

Head wounds bleed - a lot. it was an unfortunate injury and I'm glad the player De La Silva is ok. But this is far from horrific. He will be back in a few games assuming the concussion isn't too bad.

Horrific is Sean Livingston, Paul George, Kevin Ware, Sam Bowie, Jusuf Nurkic, Gordon Hayward. Fortunately, this seems to be nothing near that.

Perhaps "horrific" was not the right word for me to use. But on a breakaway to see a 6-8 guy collide with another 6-8 guy who's 40 pounds heavier and land straight on the back of his head to the court, isn't something you might ever see. It was really scary. So bad they only showed the replay once.

It's the kind of thing that has the potential to be horrific and looks really bad when it happens. I can see why guys were shook.
