I have not questioned that he is a good teacher. I have argued it isnt enough and that we will need pac 12 caliber players to win.

Of course more Pac-12 caliber players are needed, and the improvement of this season was a necessary first step to recruiting those players. Top recruits wouldn't even consider a program that was in the shape Cal hoops was in under Jones.

Somebody better get out there. It looked really sparse tonight, though somewhat understandable for a 6PM game on a work night.

No excuse for the students. It's that baseline section next to and behind the band that was nearly empty. Back in my day young uns I never missed games at Harmon even when Sean Harrell was our PG. great job by the sideline Bench. Great win I hope the seniors get a packed Haas on Sat.

Sean was particularly skilled at bringing the ball up against full court pressure.

Key stat: Cal 21 points off of turnovers to 6 for the Buffs. Protecting the ball is a good thing.

I never missed a home game, either, but the culture has changed. On top of that, current undergrads haven't ever seen much about Cal Basketball that would get them excited. We're happy that we've improved compared to the past two seasons, but all they see (in their limited perspective) is a team that loses more than it wins and that struggles to score points.

If we continue to improve, they will start to come around, but it may never again be like it was at good ol' Harmon.

yeah, lemme tell ya ...... traffic up from the South Bay in the afternoon is a nightmare. Luckily there are a few happy hour spots in Berkeley, so left the house about 2. Worth the drive, at least yesterday

Except for the freshmen, the current members of Cal's senior class are the only class to have come to campus with a bowl winning football and a NCAA tournament participating basketball team let alone a winning record on the basketball side while they have been in Berkeley.

Other than a big stadium/gym for each, the biggest draw has been the teams who have visited.

Looks like the worm is turning for football...could the same be true for basketball? It can happen much more quickly for the latter given the number of players on the roster and in the. game at a given time.

When Tony Bennett did an album with Bill Evans he was asked why there were no other musicians on the album. Bennett replied: "Don't need anyone else." Bill Evans is an entire orchestra." Miles Davis used Bill Evans on what many consider the best jazz album of all time, Kind of Blue (Coltrane and Cannonball Adderly also in the band).
