Layshia will be joining fellow former bear Reshanda Grey in Atlanta after being traded from Indiana. Layshia was drafted #9 by Indiana in 2013. Hopefully our former bears can give Atlanta a boost as they have performed poorly in recent years.
Go bears!

I think Layshia will see more action in ATL. And it appears Indiana projecting using highly-touted rookie from South Carolina Tiffany Mitchell, who is bigger and stronger than Lay, more.

Sheesh, Reshanda still haven't foul trouble.

NY waived veteran Jennifer Lacy while Talia is still around (though hasn't done much in pre-season games). It seems clear that while the Liberty love Boyd, they know her shooting is still her achilles heel. Shoni and Boyd are very different so perhaps they will interchange them depending on the matchup. Former Hoya Rodgers has definitely demonstrated way more scoring prowess than Boyd. I'm impressed b/c I think she has a long history with injuries.

In essence, Atlanta traded Shoni Schimmel for Layshia Clarendon (Schimmel to NY for a second round pick, which was flipped to Indiana for Clarendon).

I would expect Clarendon to start at point for Atlanta, as she needs to only beat out Matee Ajavon, a veteran who's more a wing. Clarendon just turned 25 last week, so there's time for her to fix the holes in her game. The word was that Indiana wanted to get rid of her (a second-round pick for a former first-round pick with four years experience isn't exactly equal value), even though she'd taken a step forward last year.

The Fever also jettisoned Jeanette Pohlen earlier this year.
