Was surprised to notice California among the list of 5 schools on this 6'3" post prospect from Wisconsin Sydnee Roby's ESPN HoopGurlz profile: http://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/217722/sydnee-roby

Also lists Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Louisville Cardinals, Michigan State Spartans, & Miami Hurricanes.

She is ranked #57 by HG and #59 by PN.

Appears to be a physical banger like recently graduated USC post Kristen Simon.

Not so surprising: Sydnee has family who went to Cal!

That's fantastic! I saw some video interviews of her and thought she had a really great outgoing and charismatic energy and could be an overall nice addition.

Any information available about Mckenzie Green 5'6" 2019 pg, #46 on PN ranking official visit to Cal this past week?

If you look at her twitter page (McKinzie is how she spells her first name - Thanks Google), she says that she had an "awesome Official Visit at Cal Berkeley." There are also pics with her family, coaches and some Cal players. Huge smile on the young woman's face throughout. Fingers crossed.

No, it's actually Mckinzie.

I really, really like the recruits we are targeting. If LG and Co can lock down 5 or so 2019's, I think a lot of jittery nerves will be calmed here. Specifically, posts will have a ton of playing time with KA leaving. That has to be promising!

Green sounds like a great find! Hopefully that big smile means she's Cal is her favorite.

Manvel is the high school that Notre Dame star Brianna Turner went to.

She visited ASU with her family last week and characterized that official visit as "great" on twitter. Her visit to Cal was deemed as "awesome". You be the judge. Do the different words give us the edge?

Sydnee sounds like the strong and skilled post player Cal is in need of. 4-Star, and all-state. Any word on the status of local posts?

Are we still recruiting/in the run for Osborne? Or is it mainly Green and Crocker as targets for guard?

Green visited Texas A&M this past week.

Cal coaches are in Louisville KY this weekend. Must be girls tournament(s). They mentioned on twitter that they'd be out on the road recruiting for 10 days. So, I'm guessing multiple stops.

You pretty well can follow the Elite Cal Star squad to get an idea of where they might be. Many are NIke sponsored events.

Based on location currently at the 'Run 4 the Roses' Louisville, KY July 6-8. They will most likely follow this with 'The National Nike Tournament' Chicago Illinois from July 10-12. Earlier, I suspect they started their trip with their traditional trip to the EOT shootout, Oregon City, Oregon June 29-July 1st.

Nike Nationals start tomorrow ... this is the last recruiting window for the summer.

But really, this is all babysitting at this point. The coaches know the players (they can't talk to them in this setting), and players know the schools, and so the coaches sit in the stands and text while idly watching the action.

The recruiting is a two-part process: 1) Getting visits; 2) closing the deal on those visits.

Of course, when a coach shows interest in a player is crucial, but by the time the girls are sophomores and juniors, that process has long since been played out.

In short, there are no surprises, on either end. You would be foolish to suddenly start recruiting a player because she has a good weekend. Maybe there's a bubble kid, or the last recruit in the class, but those players very, very seldom are difference makers at this level.

Good to know. Thanks for your perspective, Clay.

So what is the Bears' standing with Robee? Will she come on an official visit? Tough and capable post player, where the Bears must reinforce.

This was not the last recruiting window of the summer.. The first one was July 6-12 and the next one is July 23-29

My mistake ... I still think Nike Nationals should culminate the season.

The best local tournament will be in Rocklin July 23-25, where we should see a lot of the Cal recruiting candidates for the next few seasons.
