notice dropped on calbears a little after 5pm, and snipped below.

Game Against Pacific To Be Played At 2 p.m. On Stanford Campus

BERKELEY Due to poor air quality throughout the B ay Area that has resulted in smoke within Haas Pavilion, Sunday afternoon's women's basketball game between Cal and Pacific has been relocated. The game will now be played at Maples Pavilion on Stanf*rd's campus and will tip off at 2 p.m. PT.

The game at Maples will be free for all fans and tickets previously purchased to the game in Berkeley can be exchanged for a ticket to another game of equal or lesser value. Concessions will not be available on site at Maples, though fans may bring in their own food and beverage. Fans should call (800) GO BEARS (462-3277) and press option 3 with any ticketing questions.

After carefully monitoring the conditions inside Haas Pavilion, it was determined that relocating the game to a location with better air quality was in the best interest for the health and safety of all student-athletes, coaches, gameday staff, students and fans.

Cal has been in close contact with officials at Pacific and Stanf*rd, and appreciates their support and cooperation.

tv? guess not. pacnet's mostly too busy for women's hoops, till conference starts.

just a wild guess, look for the (usually) free parking across the street from maples.

ironiCally maples is available only because the scheduled guest sunday, ohio state, bailed/stayed home when they heard about all the smoke.

not to be overlooked special allowance: > fans may bring in their own food and beverage.

I dunno; we've been watching some modest pre-conference games (e.g., Cougs vs. Nebraska! Not a bad match-up, either.) on Pac-12.

As BearBloke points out, sending dozens of Bay Area cars down to That Campus is not a great idea. We will stay here and watch online, or go out to the former Larry Blake's.

Grrrr.

surely Cal is the designated home team, so for the first time Lindsey's bench moves to the other side, further south? different locker room too. # all right now

thanked cardboard for hosting bears tomorrow. reply was as follows..

If Cal is going to let us scout watch them, then we should be good hosts... Some local hints:

Cal fans should be aware that there will be, AQI permitting, a NCAA playoff soccer game starting a half-hour before (1:30). The parking lot by the football stadium will be filled. I would suggest parking at the Knight Management Center Garage across the street (Campus Drive East) from Maples.

Also be aware that many intersections have recently become circles. Vehicles (incl. bicycles) traveling in the circle have the right-of-way.

a small positive ...this gives some fans in other parts of the bay area (e.g. southbay) a chance to see the team without the long drive

good point HD, thanks. campus map linked below, one of many.

zoom zoom zoom halfway right of center, middling between top and bottom; maples grid location is 12 / G (F?).
