I watched the 2nd half of the game and it's the first time I've seen
the Ducks play this season. I could see the five Oregon starters fatigue
now at the one-third season mark. MSU 6-4 post Allen ate up UO's 6-4
Hebard. The Ducks stayed in the game by hitting treys primarily by Boley
& Ionescu. The only player that played with any foot speed was the soph
Sabally from Germany. She picked up her 3rd foul at the beginning of the
third quarter and decided to allow the Spartans to score against her inside
rather than pick up her fourth foul. Boley was on-fire until the fourth quarter
when her three point attempts came up short...

I have yet to witness either Oregon State or Stanford perform in 2018-19 so
I'll withhold my judgement on which team is better this early. Remember that
Cal & Stanford only face the Oregon schools once this season at home. The
Ducks hardly look unbeatable.

Many of the issues you mentioned are reflective of a lack of depth. That's the difference between last seasons team and this year. Hebard has never been a good defender against a strong post. They never let her play one series against Brown in their game last season. Plus Greaves refuses to play their best post defender, Giomi ,because she is not prolific offensively.

Having a bench is a safety net against games like this. If one of you starters has an off day you can rely on a sub to take up some of the slack. If they get in foul trouble you can put them on the bench for periods of time. They sorely miss the players that transferred out this season. McGwine would not be missed other than the fact that her replacement Nyara Sabbally's injury put her out for the season. The frosh point that went professional was missed and will be missed by this team as well. Malley the 62a aussie guard also has turned out to be a big loss. I don't see them a lock for the conference championship. Especially when they have to play back to backs during the conference championships. No bench means tired legs.
