Cal! Go Bears.
The last I remember as a specialist was Mikayla Lyles, though all-around guard Asha Thomas just set the Cal record for made threes.Schroeder71 said:
Unbelievable-Cal finally has a three point specialist after all these years!
Do you think Murray starts in one of the guard positions? If it was between Crocker and Murray who would you think gets the nod?ClayK said:
Good get for Lindsay ... not a difference-maker at the Pac-12 level but a good player who will be a positive addition to the program.
Naje Murray went to St. Mary's of Stockton, and was part of that great run of teams and talent that is still going on.
If she sits out a year, Naje Murray won't play with either CJ or JB.CalFanatic said:Do you think Murray starts in one of the guard positions? If it was between Crocker and Murray who would you think gets the nod?ClayK said:

I guess you could see a lineup with both....
PG- Crocker
SG- Murray
W- Forbes
4- JB
5-CJ West
Green should see a lot of minutes, as well.
Yue or Styles see time?CalFanatic said:Do you think Murray starts in one of the guard positions? If it was between Crocker and Murray who would you think gets the nod?ClayK said:

With four double-digit scorers, Cal WBB did not have a good year. The previous season wasn't so hot either. Cal starts off in the top 25 in the country, and expected to end up 4th in the Pac-12. However, after the pre-season they struggle to win. This season should have been really good with 2 seniors, a grad transfer, a junior and 2nd year player, Kianna Smith. Kianna is transferring to play for Louisville.....Charmain Smith is the best Cal Coach, now she is going to the WNBA. Something isn't clicking for the Bears. The bottom half teams are all improving. Arizona won the WNIT!!! I watched CAL win this tournament at Haas in 2010. CAL could end up last in the Pac-12 next season. Why can't they win consistently..... Is it time for a coaching change Top to Bottom with the loss of Charmaine, Kianna, Kristine, Asha and Ms. Caldwell, a true team leader! I am feeling discouraged about the future of CAL WBB.....Haas is a fun environment, has enthusiastic fans, but we need a good team. I always feel badly for the players when the team loses Pac-12 games consistently.Schroeder71 said:
Cal is losing its four double-digit scorers so points will be at a premium next season. Naje Murray averaged 13.7 ppg so she starts!
I was thinking the same thing. If she does enroll this Spring, can she participate in practice?stu said:
It's January. Does anyone know if Naje has enrolled for the spring semester?

Good for Lindsey.
Thanks, great to hear. The lack of any mention of her for a long time was giving me an uneasy feeling.SFCALBear72 said:
Naje Murray and Alaysia Styles are close friends. As are their families. I've met Alaysia Styles' mother and she is already talking about how excited she is that the two of them will be playing together next season.
So, in other words, relax. It will happen.
I think back in April 2019, Lindsey was still Cal's coach.calbearsfan said:ClayK said:

You mean Charmin, right?

No. She won't be eligible to play until next season but she can practice with the team.BearBint said:Wow--you mean we might see her Friday and/or Sunday? Excellent news.SFCALBear72 said:

So she will have 2 years of eligibility left? We don't have any sophomores now so this helps class balance going forward.SFCALBear72 said:No. She won't be eligible to play until next season but she can practice with the team.BearBint said:Wow--you mean we might see her Friday and/or Sunday? Damn. Silly of me--I was too excited to read the Cal article carefully. Still, I'm delighted to know Naje is among us.SFCALBear72 said:No. She won't be eligible to play until next season but she can practice with the team.BearBint said:Wow--you mean we might see her Friday and/or Sunday?
