Cal's beach VB team swept UC Davis across all 5 pairs at the Clark Kerr sand courts, winning 5-0. I happened to be taking a hike with my dog in the hills near the courts when I saw the game. Mirkovic and Caroline Schaffer (her partner at U21 world champs and for this season) dominated the match winning in straight sets, with all other pairs winning in a similar fashion. On a side note, I coached middle school aged kids on those courts, and had to tell them about the significance of getting the chance to learn the game there and the privileges it entails, including following the rules and not misusing the courts in any way
