Interesting article which provides much background on Cal's new tennis recruit Katja Wiersholm.

Clearly Cal has signed an immediate major impact contributor for the woman's tennis team.

The team will be traveling to the Hawaii Invitational from Jan 6-8. When does semester start? Will she be allowed to go with the team at that time?

per CalBears.com, ..."Wiersholm and the Bears will open the New Year in the Hawaii Invitational, slated for Jan. 6-8 in Honolulu." It would seem she will be there and playing.

Katja sounds like a very skilled and competitive player. Berkeley is a lot closer to Kirkland, WA, than UVA so I expect her family will be more able to watch more of her intercollegiate career than her brother's.
