If he's been on leave since December 15 pending the investigation, why is the East Bay Times just reporting this now? Six months later? Why haven't we heard anything about this before now?
This news group also broke the Teri McKeever story. What is their role in all of this? Smells a bit like a smear campaign from a Southern California based news group. hmmmm.
You don't need to question my Cal degree with your holier than thou attitude.DiabloWags said:SFCALBear72 said:

Oh please.
Do some homework and show that you are a Cal graduate.
Scott Reid is an investigative reporter that focuses on Olympic Sports.
He works for a newspaper that is part of the Digital First Media Publishing Group, which is Denver based.
If it wasnt for him, we would have never known about this Cal Team Doctor being investigated, not too mention the allegations of abuse by Teri McKeever.
Yes, his by-line says SCNG.SFCALBear72 said:
I was questioning the 6-month lag time between the doctor being put on leave and the date on this story. Mr. Reid had few details or updates on the investigation to share after 6 months. Btw, I worked in the newspaper industry for more than 25 years.
His by-line says Southern California News Group.

It's funny how you call out a single Los Angeles based reporter who is working on a story that involves CAL.
Perhaps you should ask yourself why no other reporter (besides someone from the Daily Cal) has written about Teri McKeever and the allegations of abuse made by Cal Swimmers.
Do you really think that San Jose Mercury News sports reporter Jon Wilner of the Bay Area News Group who covers Cal Football cares about an Olympic sport?
Where are all of these Cal beat reporters?
How come they totally missed this story?
Is it because it's about an Olympic Sport that no one really cares about?
Is it because the beat reporters have no balls and are afraid to report something negative about CAL?
That their access to CAL will be hampered should they write a negative investigative story?
Or is it because the talent level of sports reporters here in the Bay Area is mediocre at best?

Fyi. Jeff Faraudo of Cal Maven (affiliated with Sports Illustrated) covered the Teri McKeever story. He and Jake Curtis do an excellent job of covering ALL aspects of Olympic sports at Cal. They are both former newspaper sports reporters here in the Bay Area.

And tell Scott Reid, your brother/cousin/BFF/neighbor, to keep digging.
