Kenedi Brown is the UC Davis ace. She is a 6-2 RHP from Sheldon HS in Sacramento. Brown pitched well against Cal in the past.

Early in the game, she has decided to go with her off-speed pitches. She has four strikeouts after two innings and three of them have been on changeups. The Bears have yet to even foul off a change. The fourth strikeout was on a rise ball to Tianna Bell. Cal got a pair of hits at the start of the game off of her fastball and tallied one run. The pitcher then changed her approach and struck out Elon Butler on three change-ups.

Bears have always had trouble with good change-ups. I hope that the batters begin looking for it.

Cal has made a error per inning through three innings. Tatum Anzaldo has been responsible for two of them. The catcher got charged with the other when she threw behind the runner to 1st base but Bell did not cover the bag.

Entering the fifth inning, the game is still 1-0 in favor of the home team. I'm concerned about the outcome of the game because the Bears are striking out at over 50% of its outs. Kenedi Brown has struck out 7 of the 12 outs that she has recorded. Haylei Archer might need to throw a shutout today.

Was going to the ball game today but it was still a little chilly for me. I followed it on my computer. They looked to be a weak hitting team but we gave them a chance with the errors. But a shutout is a shutout.

Both pitchers looked pretty good today. Not exactly an earth shattering statement given the 1-0 score.

As S71 pointed out-UC Davis pitcher Brown is from Sheldon…the high school of Jolene and Danielle Henderson, Cheyenne Cordes and Lindsey Ziegenhirt, D'uana Johnson. Great program and coach.

Yeah, I don't think we are getting all 4 games in this weekend.

There was a livestream listed on the schedule. However, I'm unsure if it was active or not.

I was encouraged by the complete game by Archer...now is able to get her change up and off speed pitches in for strikes, had good movement on her curve and drop, and still has the fastball...
Great calls on the final out to go with three straight fastballs vs the pinch hitter for UC Davis and just blew them by her each time...

Thank you for the reply. I must have missed the livestream icon. I am not seeing it for the Georgia game. This is a top 25 matchup and it's hard to believe it is not televised or streamed.

Control has always been a problem for Archer. Yesterday had to be one of the better outings of her career. Kudos.

Weather report in Palo Alto looks to be ok until 2pm. Weatherperson has been wrong before but looks good for the Georgia game.

Bulldogs jump out to 3-0 lead against Randi Roelling on two walks, a double and a single in the B1st.

After three innings, Bulldogs dominate Bears. Cal has two baserunners on singles. Georgia has had 5 hits and 5 free passes (4BBs & HBP) plus an error on 2B Elon Butler. GA 4, Cal 1.

Three Bear batters have been able to generate offense (Anders, Butler, Quiroga). Chelsea Spencer needs to find another hitter to replace Ryann Orange. She came in with a .188 BA% and has been as easy out this morning. Mika Lee should have been hitting eighth rather than Orange. Cal needed to get Butler home.

Bulldogs 4, Bears 2. Their pitching was superior and toyed with certain Cal hitters (4 spots in batting order).

Darn. Georgia gets out of a jam. We had the leading run up at the plate but Lagi grounded out to 2B.

Georgia now batting B 6th. 4-2.

Yeah, i'll take it. Georgia put up TWENTY runs against Florida State. Twenty!

Randi Roelling struck out only a single batter through six innings. She was almost one K per IP before this morning's game. Six of their starters achieved hits against the southpaw, too.

Having your 9th place hitter hit after your 8th poorer hitter is not unusual. You are looking at them being a lead off hitter for the number 1 hitter.

Georgia is 1-1 against VaTech (the Dawgs' only loss), and Cal is 1-0 against the Hokies.
Georgia beat UCLA 7-2... and also beat OSU and Clemson. The Bears look like they belong.

I'm hoping against hope we get to play them tomorrow.

FYI- It appears we are playing a double header tomorrow against a strong Boise State program. This makes up for the missed game today.

Have the times been listed for the two games tomorrow? Tomorrow is a quiet day in Cal sports.

Today I will have been tracking six athletic events. I still have the women's swimming results at 6pm and I'll be watching Archbishop Mitty host Folsom at 7pm in the semi-finals of the NorCal Girl's Basketball.

The DH on Sunday will be at 10:30 and 1 pm. Both data-streamed because the games will be played at Cal.
